Basketball Game Preview: Franklin Regional Panthers vs. Fox Chapel Foxes

The Franklin Regional Panthers will challenge the Fox Chapel Foxes at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.

Franklin Regional is probably headed into the contest with a chip on their shoulder considering Canon-McMillan just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Sunday. They fell 45-32 to the Big Macs.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Fox Chapel). They breezed by Valley to the tune of 81-34 on Friday. The Foxes have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three games by 32 points or more this season.

Fox Chapel is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 5-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.6 points per game. As for Franklin Regional, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-4.

Franklin Regional was able to grind out a solid win over Fox Chapel in their previous matchup back in January of 2022, winning 32-24. Will Franklin Regional repeat their success, or does Fox Chapel have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
