Cameron Kirby looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out six over four innings pitched.
At the plate, Noah Fullerton was excellent, going 1-for-2 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run. That triple marked the first that he has hit this season.
Thornton Academy's victory bumped their record up to 10-2. As for Gorham, their win bumped their record up to 12-2-1.
Thursday's contest might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Gorham has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .448.
