Basketball Recap: Ramona Skates Past La Sierra with Ease

Ramona won the last time they faced La Sierra and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Ramona Rams blew past the La Sierra Eagles 57-26. The Rams have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight games by 20 points or more this season.

Ramona was led to victory by Olivia Molina and Diana Najera. Molina dropped a double-double on 19 points and ten boards, while Najera posted 12 points in addition to seven steals and five assists. Najera is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last 14 games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Grettely Martinez-Avila, who put up eight points.

Ramona smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 18 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in 14 consecutive matchups.

Ramona's win bumped their record up to 13-3. As for La Sierra, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-8.

Ramona will be playing at home against Norte Vista at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Ramona is facing Norte Vista at the right time seeing as Norte Vista is stuck on a nine-game losing streak. As for La Sierra, they will venture away from home to face off against Jurupa Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
