Basketball Game Preview: Northeast Vikings vs. Kensington KENSINGTON TIGER

The Northeast Vikings will venture away from home to face off against the Kensington KENSINGTON TIGER at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with nine consecutive losses for Northeast and three for Kensington.

Northeast is headed into the match out to prove that what happened against Freire Charter on Monday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Northeast was outmatched by Freire Charter and fell 65-32. The Vikings were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 41-12.

Meanwhile, Kensington suffered their biggest defeat since January 8, 2024 on Wednesday. They came up short against Frankford, falling 51-29. While losing is never fun, the KENSINGTON TIGER can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 278th, while the Pioneers are ranked 99th).

Kensington's loss dropped their record down to 7-3. As for Northeast, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-9.

Everything went Northeast's way against Kensington in their previous meeting back in January of 2022, as Northeast made off with a 49-27 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Northeast since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
