Basketball Recap: Coudersport Falcons vs. Cameron County Raiders

The Coudersport Falcons entered their tilt with the Cameron County Raiders with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. Coudersport managed a 41-36 win over the Raiders on Tuesday. Given Coudersport's advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 260th, while the Raiders are ranked 617th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Cameron County lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Navaeh Spaeth, who scored 15 points along with two steals. Another player making a difference was Elsie Bresslin, who scored 12 points along with six rebounds and four steals.

Coudersport is on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 12 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 12-4 record this season. As for Cameron County, they have not been sharp recently as the team's lost 11 of their last 13 matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-14 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Coudersport will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on the Terrors at 7:00 p.m. on February 12th. As for Cameron County, they will head out on the road to challenge the Gators at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The timing is sure in Port Allegany's favor as the team sits on four straight wins at home while the Raiders have been banged up by six consecutive losses on the road.
