Preview: Jefferson Grizzlies vs. Capuchino Mustangs
Jefferson is 0-5 against Capuchino since December of 2014 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Jefferson Grizzlies will head out on the road to challenge the Capuchino Mustangs at 6:00 p.m. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with five consecutive losses for Jefferson and four for Capuchino.
Last Tuesday, Jefferson came up short against Westmoor and fell 59-46.
Despite their defeat, Jefferson saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Grace Wang, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and 13 rebounds, was perhaps the best of all. Wang is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last 13 games she's played. Princess Jane Warit was another key contributor, scoring 14 points.
Meanwhile, Capuchino fought the good fight in their overtime match against Sequoia on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They took a 30-25 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Ravens.
Jefferson has not been sharp recently as the team's lost seven of their last eight matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-13 record this season. As for Capuchino, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-17.
Jefferson came up short against Capuchino in their previous meeting back in January, falling 47-39. Can Jefferson avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
