Football Recap: Canyon Comes Up Short

Canyon was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They took a 29-21 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Irvine Vaqueros. The Comanches lost against the Vaqueros in their previous head to head back in October of 2024, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 57-24 score last time.

When it comes to explaining why Canyon lost, don't look at Alexander Lundsberg. Despite the final result, he threw for 162 yards and a pair of touchdowns.

Canyon's loss dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Irvine, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 6-1.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Canyon will take on rival Troy at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Irvine is set to face off against their familiar foe El Toro at 7:00 p.m. on the 17th.
