Recap: Del Valle Cardinals vs. Austin Maroons
The Del Valle Cardinals''s recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their fifth straight loss. They took a hard 28-13 fall against Austin. Del Valle was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Austin apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in November of 2022.
Despite the loss, Del Valle still got an impressive performance from Kenelle Hodges, who rushed for 45 yards and two touchdowns.
Del Valle's loss was their seventh straight on the road (dating back to last season), which dropped their overall record down to 1-9. Admittedly, the team was facing some tough opposition over that stretch, including 10-0 Westlake and 12-2 Dripping Springs (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 57.7% over those games). As for Austin, their win ended a six-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 3-7.
Del Valle does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Austin also has no future games currently scheduled.
