Football Game Preview: Columbus Titans vs. Hayden Wildcats

The Columbus Titans will take on the Hayden Wildcats at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Columbus was handed a 27-point loss in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Friday. They skirted past Parsons 14-12. The Titans haven't had any issues with the Vikings recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

The critical scores for Columbus came from Jayden Dohle and Jayden Rodriguez.

Most of the squad's points came courtesy of special teams, who contributed eight in total. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Dohle, who ran a kickoff back for a touchdown.

Meanwhile, while Hayden put up plenty of points on Friday, the same can't be said for Jefferson West. The Wildcats breezed past the Tigers to the tune of 42-0. Given the Wildcats' advantage in MaxPreps' Kansas football rankings (they are ranked fifth, while the Tigers are ranked 88th) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

Hayden's victory bumped their record up to 8-0. As for Columbus, their win bumped their record up to 2-6.

Columbus might still be hurting after the 39-19 defeat they got from Hayden when the teams last played back in November of 2022. Can the Titans avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
