Preview: Pottstown Trojans vs. Pottsgrove Falcons
Pottstown is on a four-game streak of home losses (dating back to last season), Pottsgrove a four-game streak of away losses (dating back to last season), but someone's luck is about to change. The Pottstown Trojans will be home for the holidays to greet the Pottsgrove Falcons at 6:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Last Friday, Pottstown ended up a good deal behind Upper Merion Area and lost 34-20. Pottstown has struggled against Upper Merion Area recently, as their contest on Friday was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.
Meanwhile, Pottsgrove had to suffer through a rough 60-27 loss at the hands of Pope John Paul II.
Pottsgrove's defeat came about despite a quality game from Ava Leaman, who scored 14 points along with three steals. Leaman continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jessica Carroll, who scored five points along with six rebounds and three steals.
Pottstown's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Pottsgrove, their loss dropped their record down to 1-6.
Pottstown ended up a good deal behind Pottsgrove in their previous matchup back in January, losing 44-28. Can Pottstown avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
