Pella put their dominant pitchers on display in the team's third consecutive shutout on Thursday. They walked away with a 5-0 victory over the Newton Cardinals. The win continues a trend for the Dutch in their matchups with the Cardinals: they've now won eight in a row.

Pella's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 21-12. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.3 runs on average over those games. As for Newton, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost 12 of their last 14 contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-21 record this season.
