Wilcox County came tearing into Tuesday's matchup with seven straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 8 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They never let the Schley County Wildcats get on the board and left with a 4-0 victory. This was a revenge game for the Patriots: when they faced off against the Wildcats on September 4th, they had to take a 7-4 defeat.

Not much got past Shamauri Martin, who gave up just five hits and racked up nine Ks to keep Schley County off the board. Those nine strikeouts set a new season-high mark for Martin.

On the hitting side, Wilcox County saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Maeson Owens, who went 1-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. Presley Kelley also deserves some recognition as she got her first hit of the season.

Wilcox County's win bumped their record up to 12-7. As for Schley County, their loss dropped their record down to 6-9.

Coming up, Wilcox County will be playing at home against Montgomery County at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Patriots are facing the Eagles at the right time seeing as the Eagles are stuck on a six-game losing streak. As for Schley County, they will venture away from home to square off against Perry at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
