Cedar Vale/Dexter hadn't done well against West Elk recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Spartans blew past the Patriots, posting a 54-0 victory. For the Spartans, this counts as revenge for the 64-14 win the Patriots walked away with the last time they faced one another back in October of 2024.

Royce Potter continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 62 yards and four scores on only seven carries, while also picking up 48 receiving yards and one TD. Those four rushing touchdowns gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Cooper Criss, who threw for 169 yards and a pair of touchdowns on perfect 8-for-8 passing.

Cedar Vale/Dexter's run defense was locked in: West Elk could only muster 1.3 yards per carry. The Spartans didn't have any issues in that department, having averaged 8.7.

The victory made it two in a row for Cedar Vale/Dexter and bumps their season record up to 4-1. That said, the team wasn't facing the toughest opposition over that stretch, as it included 1-4 West Elk and 1-3 Sedan. As for West Elk, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-4.
