Basketball Game Preview: Freedom Falcons vs. Arcata Tigers

The Freedom Falcons will take on the Arcata Tigers in a tournament on Friday. Freedom will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.

Last Saturday, Freedom earned a 51-39 win over Manteca. Given the Falcons' advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 208th, while the Buffaloes are ranked 563rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Arcata was able to grind out a solid victory over Monte Vista on Saturday, taking the game 45-32. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Tigers.

Freedom better keep an eye on Mayleah Jackson. She was instrumental in Arcata's win, putting up 11 points. Jackson is trending in the right direction considering she's improved her point production for three straight games. Another player making a difference was Mae Wolford, who posted nine points and six rebounds.

Arcata has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 7-4 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.4 points per game. As for Freedom, they pushed their record up to 8-4 with the win, which was their third straight on the road.
