Basketball Recap: Galeton Comes Up Short

Galeton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 38th straight defeat dating back to last season. They were outmatched by the Otto-Eldred Terrors and fell 52-19. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Tigers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 53-2 back in December of 2024.

Lynlee Basile was Galeton's leading scorer, having posted 15 points. Brielle Lehman held things down on the boards with nine rebounds.

Otto-Eldred found their leader in sophomore Rayel Hakes, who posted eight points. Tori Bickford also deserves some recognition as she scored her first points of the season.

Galeton's loss dropped their record down to 0-17. As for Otto-Eldred, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 13-2.

Galeton wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 46-13 defeat against Sayre on the 25th. As for Otto-Eldred, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 43-21 win against Austin on the 28th.
