Football Game Preview: Sipsey Valley Bears vs. Montevallo Bulldogs

The Sipsey Valley Bears will take on the Montevallo Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.

On Friday, Sipsey Valley came up short against Demopolis and fell 28-20. The Bears haven't had much luck with the Tigers recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

Sipsey Valley might have lost, but man, Isaiah Bennett was a machine: he rushed for 100 yards and one TD, and also picked up 33 receiving yards. Bennett was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 52 yards.

Meanwhile, Montevallo scored the most points they've had this season on Friday, but it wasn't enough. They were dealt a 50-21 defeat at the hands of Shelby County. The Bulldogs were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 50-14.

Sipsey Valley's loss dropped their record down to 4-4. As for Montevallo, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-6.

Everything went Sipsey Valley's way against Montevallo when the teams last played back in October of 2024, as Sipsey Valley made off with a 51-27 victory. Will the Bears repeat their success, or do the Bulldogs have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
