Volleyball Recap: Avery County Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Avery County lost against Polk County back in December of 2020, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Vikings fell just short of the Wolverines by a score of 3-2. The Vikings have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Avery County took a 2-1 lead headed into the fourth set, but sadly they lost the next two. The final score came out to 25-12, 23-25, 23-25, 25-21, 15-8.

Despite the loss, Avery County still got an impressive performance from Hallie Johnson, who had 22 digs and 21 assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Kylie Holtsclaw, who had 30 digs.

Avery County's loss dropped their record down to 7-5. As for Polk County, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-3 record this season.

Avery County has already played their next contest, a 3-1 victory against Mitchell on the 18th. As for Polk County, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 3-1 defeat against Landrum on the 17th.
