Basketball Game Preview: Piedmont Hills Pirates vs. Westmont Warriors

The Piedmont Hills Pirates will square off against the Westmont Warriors at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Piedmont Hills comes in on three and Westmont on five.

On Saturday, everything came up roses for Piedmont Hills against Gunderson as the team secured a 61-16 victory. The Pirates have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five matchups by 27 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, it may have taken overtime to finish the job, but Westmont ultimately got the result they hoped for on Thursday. They secured a 47-43 W over Prospect. The win was all the more spectacular given the Warriors' disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 463rd, while the Panthers are ranked 184th).

Piedmont Hills pushed their record up to 8-5 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.3 points per game. As for Westmont, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 10-4 record this season.

Piedmont Hills didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Westmont when the teams last played back in January of 2022, but they still walked away with a 43-38 win.
