Soccer Game Preview: Cypress vs. Pacifica

The Cypress Centurions will take on the Pacifica Mariners in a holiday battle at at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Pacifica took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Cypress, who comes in off a win.

Cypress took a loss when they played away from home on Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Thursday. They walked away with a 3-1 victory over Marina.

Cypress hit Marina with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Rylee Schneider, Makayaden Vazquez, and Jasmyne Roberts.

Meanwhile, Saturday just wasn't the day for Pacifica's offense. They lost 4-0 to Notre Dame (SO) on Saturday. While losing is never fun, the Mariners can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 316th, while the Knights are ranked 27th).

Cypress' first win this season bumped their record up to 1-1-1. As for Pacifica, they now have a losing record at 2-3.

Cypress was able to grind out a solid victory over Pacifica when the teams last played back in February, winning 2-0. Does Cypress have another victory up their sleeve, or will Pacifica turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
