Recap: Mt. Shasta Bears vs. Modoc Braves

The Mt. Shasta Bears's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their 18th straight loss. They were dealt a 57-9 defeat at the hands of Modoc. Mt. Shasta was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 32-5.

Leading Modoc to victory were Caelli DePaul and Julianna Minto. DePaul dropped a double-double on 11 points and 11 rebounds, while Minto dropped a double-double on 12 points and ten rebounds. Minto is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down eight or more in the last five games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Allie Weber, who scored ten points.

Mt. Shasta dropped their record down to 1-22 with that defeat, which was their 14th straight on the road dating back to last season. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 25.1 points per game. As for Modoc, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 17-8.

Mt. Shasta will look to defend their home court on Friday against Weed at 7:00 p.m. Weed presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Mt. Shasta in California (Weed is ranked 212th, while Mt. Shasta is ranked 1161st). As for Modoc, they will head out on the road to challenge Fall River at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Modoc has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
