Soccer Game Preview: College Prep vs. Arcata

The College Prep Cougars will take on the Arcata Tigers at 2:30 p.m. on Friday.

College Prep is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of California's top teams: Athenian, who was ranked 11th at the time (College Prep was ranked sixth). The two teams finished up on equal footing with a 1-1 draw on Thursday.

College Prep's goal came courtesy of Bastian Boykin, who's now up to six this season.

Meanwhile, with a playoff win on the line, Arcata rose to the challenge on Wednesday. They beat the Mustangs by a goal, winning 2-1. The result kept Arcata happy, as they haven't lost a game since August 29th.

Arcata is on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 13 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-2-5 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 90 goals over those 13 contests. College Prep's draw makes their record 8-2-3 this season.
