Baseball Game Preview: Trinity Lutheran Cougars vs. Irvington Preparatory Academy

The Trinity Lutheran Cougars will challenge Irvington Preparatory Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Trinity Lutheran is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.2 runs per game this season.

On Thursday, Trinity Lutheran needed a bit of extra time to put away Clarksville. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 4-2 victory over the Generals. The win continues a trend for the Cougars in their matchups with the Generals: they've now won three in a row.

Bode Brooks made a splash while hitting and pitching. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out 13 over eight innings pitched. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Trinity Lutheran is 2-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 6-8 otherwise. Brooks was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

In other batting news, Brody Brown was incredible, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. What's more, he posted two hits, the most he's had since back in May of 2025.

Irvington Preparatory Academy played against Providence Cristo Rey on Saturday and won via forfeit.

Irvington Preparatory Academy's victory bumped their record up to 13-8. As for Trinity Lutheran, their win bumped their record up to 8-9.
