Baseball Game Preview: Windsor Locks Raiders vs. Windsor Warriors

The Windsor Locks Raiders will square off against the Windsor Warriors at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

For some reason, the away team has come away with the win the last four times Windsor Locks and Canton have met, but the home crowd finally got their W on Monday. The Raiders fell 10-7 to the Warriors.

Jomar Ortiz put in work while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two doubles, one run, and one RBI.

In other batting news, Zavier Hunt made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one home run, two stolen bases, and three runs. That home run was his first of the season. Joey Tripp was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.

Meanwhile, Windsor had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 4.7 runs) and they went ahead and made it four on Thursday. Everything went their way against the Red Wolves as they made off with a 9-2 win. The Warriors might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six matchups by six runs or more this season.

Windsor Locks' loss dropped their record down to 4-12. As for Windsor, they now have a winning record of 9-8.
