Recap: San Gabriel Academy Eagles vs. Western Christian Fighting Lancers
There's no place like home for the San Gabriel Academy Eagles, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Thursday. They came out on top against Western Christian by a score of 41-34 on Saturday. That's another feather in the cap for San Gabriel Academy, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Despite the loss, Western Christian saw an underclassman step up: CeCe Balderrama dropped a double-double on 18 points and 16 rebounds. Balderrama has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last three times she's played.
San Gabriel Academy pushed their record up to 9-6 with that win, which was their fourth straight at home. As for Western Christian, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-19.
San Gabriel Academy will face off against Chisholm Trail Academy at 8:50 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Western Christian, they will head out on the road to take on Newport Christian at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Newport Christian is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'.
