Softball Recap: North Platte Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for North Platte, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They walked away with a 5-2 win over the Plattsburg Tigers on Thursday. The victory continues a trend for the Panthers in their matchups with the Tigers: they've now won six in a row.

Kate Wolf made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 17 batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off five hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts any time she's pitched this season. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Graci Williams, who went 3-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI. That run marked the first that she has scored this season. Another player making a difference was Farrah Williams, who went 1-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

North Platte's win was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 7-5. As for Plattsburg, their loss dropped their record down to 6-6.

Coming up, North Platte will take on Albany in a tournament on Saturday. As for Plattsburg, they will venture away from home to square off against Stewartsville at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
