Softball Recap: North Platte Starts Season with Win at Home

North Platte gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Thursday. They came out on top against the Adams Central Patriots by a score of 7-3. The Bulldogs haven't had any issues with the Patriots recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive victory against them.

Aryadnna Reyna made a big impact no matter where she played. She struck out 12 batters over 5.2 innings while giving up just two earned runs off two hits. Those 12 strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.

Reyna wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Maleighya Harmon, who went 1-for-2 with one double and one RBI.

Coincidentally, North Platte and Adams Central will both be playing Gering the next time they take the field. The Patriots will host the Bulldogs at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, while the Bulldogs will play them later in the day, at 8:00 p.m.
