Summit had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 2.3 goals) and they went ahead and made it four on Wednesday. Their defense stepped up to hand the Rim of the World Fighting Scots a 2-0 shutout. Given the SkyHawks' advantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 418th, while the Fighting Scots are ranked 896th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Summit pushed their record up to 13-4-2 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only given up two goals over those six games. As for Rim of the World, they have been struggling recently as they've lost 11 of their last 14 matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-14-2 record this season.
