Basketball Game Preview: Sonora Wildcats vs. Escalon Cougars

A feisty cat fight is on tap when the Sonora Wildcats take on the Escalon Cougars at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday... Sonora is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak.

Last Friday, Sonora didn't have quite enough to beat Ripon Christian and fell 37-34.

Meanwhile, you can't lose the game if you win every quarter, and that was precisely Escalon's strategy against Orestimba on Friday. Escalon took down Orestimba 60-43.

Escalon is also on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 11-10 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 28.8 points per game. As for Sonora, their loss dropped their record down to 6-11.

Sonora beat Escalon 41-33 in their previous matchup on January 7th. The rematch might be a little tougher for Sonora since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
