Basketball Recap: Ligonier Valley Rams vs. United Lions
Ligonier Valley played a tough match on Tuesday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They had to suffer through a 71-17 loss at the hands of the United Lions. The Rams haven't had much luck with the Lions recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.
Abby Springer was Ligonier Valley's leading scorer, having posted five points. Jada Pope held things down on the boards with five rebounds. Adleigh Myers took the lead distributing the ball, coming up with two assists.
United's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Lilly McGinnis, who went 9 of 16 on her way to 22 points and eight steals. McGinnis is crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Ligonier Valley wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 70-13 loss against Shady Side Academy on the 19th. As for United, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 57-36 defeat against Cambria Heights on the 18th.
