Basketball Recap: Vallejo Snaps Six-Game Streak of Wins on the Road

Vallejo lost against Albany back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Vallejo Redhawks took a 34-30 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Albany Cougars. The Redhawks have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Despite the loss, Vallejo had strong showings from Zurrie Washington, who posted ten points along with seven boards and six steals, and Taliyah Davis, who had four points in addition to 14 rebounds and three steals. Davis is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last 13 games she's played.

Vallejo's defeat ended a six-game streak of away wins and brought them to 9-12. As for Albany, they have been performing well recently as they've won 12 of their last 15 games, which provided a nice bump to their 15-6 record this season.

Vallejo wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 30-19 loss against Archie Williams on the 1st. As for Albany, they are taking a road trip to square off against El Cerrito at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both have allowed few points on average, (El Cerrito: 28.8, Albany: 29.8) so any points scored will be well earned.
