Soccer Game Preview: Pacific vs. Fontana

The Pacific Pirates will head out on the road to face off against the Fontana Steelers at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Pacific's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for four straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Pacific fell victim to Garey and their airtight defense on Tuesday. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Vikings.

Meanwhile, Fontana hadn't done well against Ontario recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. Fontana never let Ontario onto the board and left with a 1-0 victory. The score was all tied up 0-0 at the break, but the Steelers were the better team in the second half.

Pacific's defeat dropped their record down to 0-3-1. As for Fontana, their win bumped their record up to 2-0-2.

Pacific was able to grind out a solid victory over Fontana in their previous matchup back in December of 2023, winning 2-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for Pacific since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
