Soccer Game Preview: Kennedy vs. Salesian College Preparatory

The Kennedy Eagles will venture away from home to face off against the Salesian College Preparatory Pride at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams are coming into the matchup red-hot, with Kennedy sitting on six straight wins and Salesian College Preparatory on seven.

Kennedy is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. They never let St. Patrick-St. Vincent onto the board and left with a 4-0 victory. The Eagles might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven contests by three goals or more this season.

Meanwhile, Salesian College Preparatory got the win against Swett on Tuesday by a conclusive 5-1. Given the Pride's advantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 418th, while the Warriors are ranked 1214th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Kennedy's win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-2-1. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up one goal over those six games. As for Salesian College Preparatory, their victory bumped their record up to 11-1-1.

Kennedy came up short against Salesian College Preparatory in their previous matchup back in January, falling 2-0. Can Kennedy avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
