Soccer Game Preview: Springfield vs. Beavercreek

Springfield hasn't had much luck against Beavercreek recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Wildcats are taking a road trip to face off against the Beavers at 7:00 p.m. Springfield has given up an average of 4.1 goals per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Springfield managed to keep up with Troy until halftime on Tuesday, but things quickly went downhill from there. The Wildcats came up short against the Trojans, falling 6-2. While losing is never fun, Springfield can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio soccer rankings (they are ranked 338th, while Troy are ranked 113th).

Meanwhile, Beavercreek entered their tilt with Lebanon on Saturday with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. They never let the Warriors get on the board and left with a 1-0 victory. Beavercreek wouldn't have won without Jarrett Davis, who scored the game-winner.

Beavercreek's win bumped their record up to 13-1-2. As for Springfield, their loss dropped their record down to 4-13.

Springfield might still be hurting after the 7-0 defeat they got from Beavercreek when the teams last played last Tuesday. Can the Wildcats avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
