Basketball Game Preview: Ridley Raiders vs. Upper Darby Royals

The Ridley Raiders will face off against the Upper Darby Royals at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with three consecutive losses for Ridley and seven for Upper Darby.

On Thursday, Ridley came up short against Lower Merion and fell 45-34. While losing is never fun, the Raiders can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 410th, while the Aces are ranked 168th).

Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 70-20, which was the final score in Upper Darby's tilt against Conestoga on Thursday.

Upper Darby's loss dropped their record down to 4-9. As for Ridley, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-11.

Ridley strolled past Upper Darby in their previous meeting back in December of 2023 by a score of 40-25. Will Ridley repeat their success, or does Upper Darby have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
