Baseball Recap: Wakefield Takes a Loss

Wakefield was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They took a 6-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Yorktown Patriots. The Warriors were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Patriots apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2025.

Gomez Jowell was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-2 with one home run.

Wakefield's defeat dropped their record down to 5-13. As for Yorktown, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 11-6.

Wakefield wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 4-1 loss against Meridian on the 13th. As for Yorktown, they have also already played their next matchup, a 6-2 win against Wakefield School on the 12th.
