Basketball Recap: Peyton Axene and Valerie Lauritzen Secure Win for Murrieta Valley

After losing to Temecula Valley the last time they met, Murrieta Valley decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Murrieta Valley Nighthawks walked away with a 63-53 victory over the Temecula Valley Golden Bears on Wednesday.

Leading Murrieta Valley to victory were Valerie Lauritzen and Peyton Axene. Lauritzen went 11 for 21 on her way to 29 points in addition to eight rebounds and five steals, while Axene dropped a double-double on 20 points and 11 boards. That makes it eight consecutive games in which Lauritzen has scored at least a third of Murrieta Valley's points.
