Softball Preview: Taylor County Vikings vs. Marion County Eagles
The Taylor County Vikings will face off against the Marion County Eagles at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Taylor County will be looking to extend their current 15-game winning streak.
Taylor County proved they can win big on Wednesday (they won by ten) and on Monday they proved they can win the close ones too. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Jackson, sneaking past 7-5.
The home team had come away the winner the last six times Marion County and Hawkinsville had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. The Eagles skirted past the Red Devils 15-14. The win continues a trend for the Eagles in their matchups with the Red Devils: they've now won three in a row.
Kinsley Barrow was incredible, going a perfect 5-for-5 with five runs, two stolen bases, and one RBI. Those five runs gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Haleigh Frazier, who went 2-for-5 with four RBI, one stolen base, and one run.
Taylor County's victory bumped their record up to 19-2. As for Marion County, their win bumped their record up to 18-6.
