Football Game Preview: Belen Eagles vs. Valley Vikings + Official Tickets

The Belen Eagles will face off against the Valley Vikings at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Belen is coming into the contest hot, having won their last four games.

Last Thursday, Belen was able to grind out a solid victory over Capital, taking the game 22-14.

A big part of Belen's win came down to the chemistry between Gonzalo Cano and his top target Logan Gonzalez. Cano rushed for 142 yards and one TD on only 12 carries while Gonzalez gained 112 total yards and a touchdown. Belen is 5-2 when Cano posts 80 or more rushing yards, but 1-2 otherwise.

Belen was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 272 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since back in October of 2024.

Meanwhile, Valley didn't have too much trouble with Rio Grande on Saturday as they won 28-14. The Vikings haven't had any issues with the Ravens recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive victory against them.

The critical scores for Valley came from Michael Garcia, Zachary Perez-Verdeja, and Joshua Sanchez.

Valley didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Jude Olguin, Gabriel Gonzales, and Mateo Medina picked up one apiece.

Belen's record now sits at 6-4. As for Valley, their record is now 4-6.

Belen couldn't quite finish off Valley in their previous meeting back in September and fell 25-22. Can the Eagles avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
