Soccer Game Preview: Luella vs. Hampton

The Luella Lions will take on the Hampton Hornets at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Luella will be strutting in after a win while Hampton will be coming in after a loss.

It was a proper cat-fight when Luella took on Stockbridge on Thursday. Luella walked away with a 3-1 victory over Stockbridge.

JAHLIL SCOTT and OBA AJIBOYE scored all three of Luella's goals, which were season-firsts for both players.

Meanwhile, after soaring to eight goals the game before, Hampton was a bit more limited in their matchup on Friday. They fell just short of Stockbridge by a score of 2-1. The defeat continues a trend for the Hornets in their matchups with the Tigers: they've now lost five in a row.

The win got Luella back to even at 1-1. As for Hampton, their loss dropped their record down to an identical 1-1.

Luella came up short against Hampton when the teams last played back in March of 2024, falling 4-2. Can Luella avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
