Baseball Recap: Camden County Wins Going Away Against Savannah Country Day

Camden County took a ten-run loss the last time they faced off against Savannah Country Day, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Camden County Wildcats had just enough and edged out the Savannah Country Day Hornets 4-2. That looming 4-2 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Wildcats yet this season.

Elijah Cox spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on four hits and racked up seven Ks.

On the hitting side, Caden Napier was excellent, scoring two runs while going 3-for-3. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in hits (three). Gavyn Nelson was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base and two RBI.

Camden County's win bumped their record up to 3-5. As for Savannah Country Day, they are on an eight-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-6.

Looking ahead, Camden County will welcome Atlantic Coast at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Atlantic Coast is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.8 runs per game this season. As for Savannah Country Day, they will square off against Effingham County at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Effingham County will roll in looking for their seventh straight victory, something Savannah Country Day surely won't give up without a fight.
