Holmes County Central and Vicksburg are an even 5-5 against one another since November of 2015, but not for long. The Jaguars will welcome the Gators at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Vicksburg took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Holmes County Central, who comes in off a win.

Holmes County Central lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Provine, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Friday's contest. The Jaguars simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat the Rams 42-0. The Jaguars might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five matchups by 26 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, after some red-hot attacks on offense in their last three games, Vicksburg finally came back down to earth on Friday. They lost 34-10 to Cleveland Central. The contest marked the Gators' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Vicksburg moved to 5-3 with that loss, which also ended their three-game winning streak. As for Holmes County Central, their victory was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 6-3.

Holmes County Central strolled past Vicksburg when the teams last played back in August of 2024 by a score of 20-6. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was the Gators' DeCorey Knight, Jr, who rushed for 130 yards, and also picked up 80 receiving yards and one touchdown. Now that he won't be playing on Thursday, will it be easier for the Jaguars to walk away with another win? There's only one way to find out.
