Basketball Game Preview: Rio Americano Raiders vs. Ponderosa Bruins

The Rio Americano Raiders will head out on the road to face off against the Ponderosa Bruins at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Given that both suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.

On Monday, Rio Americano came up short against Sacramento and fell 53-41.

Despite the defeat, Rio Americano saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Natalie Saunders posted 15 points. Saunders is trending in the right direction considering she's improved her point production for four straight games. Another player making a difference was Adriana Hodges, who put up nine points.

Meanwhile, Ponderosa's undefeated season came to an end after 18 games on Monday. They received a blow as they fell 63-44 to Christian Brothers. The loss put an end to the Bruins' undefeated start to the season.

Having lost for the first time this season, Ponderosa fell to 18-1. As for Rio Americano, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-10 record this season.
