Softball Recap: Wilkinson County Warriors vs. Georgia School for Innovation & Classics Patriots
Wilkinson County had lost six straight at home dating back to last season, but on Tuesday they dropped down to 0-10 to make it seven. They lost 17-1 to the Georgia School for Innovation & Classics Patriots. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Patriots this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 15-0 on September 4th.

Wilkinson County saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Lacey French, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with two stolen bases and one run. French has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times she's played.
As for Georgia School for Innovation & Classics, their record is now 6-7. The result was nothing new for the Patriots, who have now won four contests by 12 runs or more so far this season.
On Georgia School for Innovation & Classics' side, Aimee Brown (So) and Anna-Katherine Stenger (Jr) did most of the damage at the plate: Brown (So) got on base in all three of her plate appearances with two runs, two RBI, and one double, while Stenger (Jr) went a perfect 1-for-1 with one home run and three RBI. That's the most runs Brown (So) has posted since back in August. The team also got some help courtesy of Hailey Hardeman, who earned two runs and one stolen base.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Wilkinson County will welcome Georgia Military College at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Georgia School for Innovation & Classics, they will challenge Johnson County at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Trojans will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something the Patriots surely won't give up without a fight.
