Softball Recap: Ralston Valley Mustangs vs. Brush Beetdiggers
Ralston Valley saw some tournament action on Friday. They fell just short of the Brush Beetdiggers by a score of 8-7.
Nina Renk was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing seven innings while giving up three earned (and five unearned) runs off nine hits. Renk was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with three RBI and one double.
In other batting news, Kat Mastriona made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.
Ralston Valley's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Brush, the win keeps them at an undefeated 4-0.
Coincidentally, Ralston Valley and Brush will both be playing Mountain Vista the next time they take the field. The Mustangs will host the Golden Eagles at 4:00 p.m. on Friday, while the Beetdiggers will head out to face them at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
