Basketball Game Preview: Needles Mustangs vs. Mohave Accelerated Patriots

Needles has won 13 straight games at home (dating back to last season), while Mohave Accelerated has won 13 straight on the road, but those streaks won't matter much on Thursday. The Needles Mustangs will welcome the Mohave Accelerated Patriots at 5:30 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Needles is headed into the matchup after thoroughly thrashing Adelson: they outscored them in every quarter. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that Needles blew Adelson out of the water with a 73-17 final score. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 42-10.

Meanwhile, Mohave Accelerated blew past Trivium Prep, posting a 58-31 victory. Given the Patriots' advantage in MaxPreps' Arizona basketball rankings (they are ranked 121st, while the Crimson Knights are ranked 250th), the result on Tuesday wasn't entirely unexpected.

Needles' win bumped their record up to 14-3. As for Mohave Accelerated, their victory bumped their record up to 13-7.

Everything came up roses for Needles against Mohave Accelerated when the teams last played back in December of 2019, as the team secured a 59-22 win. Will Needles repeat their success, or does Mohave Accelerated have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
