After a string of five wins, Portal's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They fell 6-3 to the Jenkins County War Eagles. The Panthers were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the War Eagles earlier this season, when they won 5-4.

Portal's defeat dropped their record down to 9-9. As for Jenkins County, they moved to 5-14 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak.

Coming up, Portal will head out on the road to take on Emanuel County Institute at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The Bulldogs will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something the Panthers surely won't give up without a fight. As for Jenkins County, they will host McIntosh County Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Buccaneers have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 9.71 runs per game on average), something the War Eagles will no doubt try to take advantage of.
