Recap: Friends Select vs. New Foundations
Friends Select's's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their ninth straight loss dating back to last season. They took a serious blow against New Foundations, falling 46-19. Friends Select was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 34-7.
Leading New Foundations to victory were Ava A and Keniyah M. A scored 12 points, while M scored 13 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Giziah F, who scored seven points.
Friends Select's defeat was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 0-3. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 16.6 points per game. As for New Foundations, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 12-3.
Friends Select will be playing in front of their home fans against Germantown Friends at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Germantown Friends' defense has only allowed 25.7 points per game this season, so Friends Select's offense will have their work cut out for Friends Select. As for New Foundations, they will head out on the road to face off against Kohelet Yeshiva at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
