Basketball Game Preview: Canyon Crest Academy Ravens vs. El Camino Wildcats

The Canyon Crest Academy Ravens will head out to challenge the El Camino Wildcats at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with five consecutive losses for Canyon Crest Academy and eight for El Camino.

Canyon Crest Academy is headed into the game out to prove that what happened against Mission Vista on Wednesday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Canyon Crest Academy was outmatched by Mission Vista and fell 59-22. The Ravens were down 46-19 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.

Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Elena Colon, who posted five points and ten boards. She has been hot for a while, having posted eight or more rebounds the last 11 times she's played.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when El Camino duked it out withVista on Wednesday. El Camino received a blow as they fell 53-38 to Vista.

El Camino's defeat dropped their record down to 6-8. As for Canyon Crest Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 2-11.

Canyon Crest Academy and El Camino were neck-and-neck when the teams last played back in February of 2024, but Canyon Crest Academy came up empty-handed after a 49-48 defeat. Can Canyon Crest Academy avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
