Basketball Recap: Virtus Academy Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Virtus Academy played a tough matchup on Thursday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They had to suffer through a 63-16 loss at the hands of the Cheraw Braves. The Wolves were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 32-6.

Cheraw found their leader in freshman Kobi McDonald, who shot 67% from the field en route to 14 points along with eight steals and five rebounds. McDonald continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Elijah McClain, who posted 11 points and three steals.

Virtus Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Cheraw, the victory got them back to even at 2-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Virtus Academy will venture away from home to square off against Heathwood Hall Episcopal at 7:15 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Cheraw, they will head out to challenge Marlboro County at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday.
