Basketball Recap: New Oxford Takes a Loss

New Oxford lost against Northeastern back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The match between the New Oxford Colonials and the Northeastern Bobcats didn't end well, with the New Oxford Colonials falling 59-40. The Colonials' loss continues a trend for the team, making it four in a row.

Lauralye Kennedy was the offensive standout of the contest as she posted 24 points. That makes it three consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Northeastern's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Leah Himes, who put up nine points.

New Oxford's record now sits at 1-7. As for Northeastern, the win snapped their losing streak at four games and leaves them with a 3-11 record.

New Oxford will head out on the road to challenge Central York at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Central York will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something New Oxford surely won't give up without a fight. As for Northeastern, a feisty cat fight is on tap when the Northeastern Bobcats challenge the William Penn Bearcats at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Someone's luck will take a turn for the better: Northeastern has lost three straight at home , while William Penn has lost three on the road.
